The bathroom is located off the main bedroom in a newly constructed apartment. It includes a recessed shower, built-in bath and wall hung basin and cabinet. The room has no natural light or windows with two internal walls and two external walls.

CLIENT BRIEF

CONCEPT
SOFT TRANQUILITY
The first priority of the project was to look at the space requirements. The bathroom was expanded to ensure sufficient circulation and no overlap in the footprint of fixtures and fittings. To accommodate the expansion the eastern wall was demolished with a new wall constructed in the second bedroom.
This larger rectangular floor plan allows a wheelchair to freely and easily around. To ensure suitable clearance the doorway was widened with a 900mm hinged door. All fixtures and fittings were chosen to comply with BCA code. This includes the toilet, basin, shower structure, grab rails and anti-slip flooring.
“Soft tranquillity” The design of the bathroom provides a soft and warm environment for everyday recovery. The buttery timber, textured tiles and soft greens reflect soft and natural. Recessed lighting will provide a soft glow.
